Experience the High Life in Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s Hollywood Film Mega-Mansion

A lavish property in Broadbeach Waters that was prominently displayed in the 2015 Hollywood movie San Andreas, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, has been listed for sale.

According to realestate.com.au, the expansive Te Moana property, which measures 3296 square meters and is situated at 249-255 Monaco St, was sold for $12.5 million in August 2020.

The two-story villa has five bedrooms and six bathrooms and is surrounded by gorgeous tropical grounds.

The house has a large outdoor party deck with an outdoor kitchen, a 17-meter pool, a pontoon, a jetty, and a six-car garage.

Rebecca Moffrey of Ray White Burleigh Group described the terracotta, Mediterranean-styled house as the “Taj Mahal of its day.”

“It really was the Taj Mahal of its day, albeit with a very red terracotta, Mediterranean style,” Ms. Moffrey said to realestate.com.au.

It is still a remarkable house today; it is a private estate on one of the most prominent neighborhoods on the Coast. It has lovely high ceilings, an airy open feel, and beautiful styling.

“If you like big, this is the place for you.”

Te Moana is comparable to another well-publicized recent transaction: the $24 million sale of a key river home last month.

Both mansions were built in the 1990s, have a combined 42 meters of water frontage, and have been hailed as among of Australia’s greatest homes of their time.

Additionally, Johnson’s high-budget catastrophe movie used both of them as locations.

Te Moana is unquestionably one of the Coast’s most opulent residences, with a Hollywood past to boot, according to Ms. Moffrey.

One of the most watched movies of 2015 was San Andreas, which included several standout scenes with The Rock in the living room and on the driveway.

Malcolm Watkins, the founder of Australian Finance Group, and his partner, Peter Kerr, who are currently looking to downsize, have also used the house as a pandemic escape.

The campaign for expressions of interest is being run without a price range being made public, but given the previous $24 million sale as a benchmark, potential purchasers will need to be well-funded.

Those wishing to invest in a piece of Australia’s real estate luxury are likely to pay close attention to Te Moana given its grandeur and cinematic heritage.
