Columbus2: Unleashing the Ultimate 80m Hybrid Explorer Catamaran Concept with Epic Party Deck

The 80-meter Columbus2 is the most recent addition to beiderbeck designs’ selection of mega catamaran conceptions.

Columbus2 was unveiled as one of the studio’s most recent sustainable vessels; it is optimised for resource-saving and sustainable use and employs cutting-edge technologies and German engineering. Powered by a diesel-electric drive supplemented by fuel cells and solar panels, the new concept is constructed from materials such as glass and carbon-reinforced aluminium to be as energy-efficient and lightweight as possible – a significant step towards genuinely sustainable yachting.

To ensure the lowest potential power requirement, the hull lines adhere to beiderbeck’s consistent design for displacement catamarans. In addition, by coupling expansive interior and exterior spaces with the capacity to be nearly self-sufficient for extended periods of time, the designers have ensured that she is an ideal platform for sustainable global journeys and expeditions.

Inside the bright, light-filled interior, visitors will find expansive window areas, including a large observation lounge with a retractable roof and its own observatory on the top deck. A lounge with large forward-facing windows can be found in the bridge between the vessels, where it will remain protected and comfortable even in rough conditions. There is also room for up to sixteen overnight visitors.

The helipad on the upper deck can be converted into a party deck or opened to reveal the indoor/outdoor pool. Due to the platform’s expansive open space, it can also be used as a hot air balloon launch pad.

The yacht’s spacious toy storages and expansive working deck provide ample space for a variety of equipment. In addition to ribs and limousine tenders, Columbus2 provides a system for electric landing vessels like snow and off-road mobiles. In addition, a submarine can be propelled using a unique crane system located between the hulls.
