The Weeknd Splurges $70 Million on Expansive Bel Air Mansion

R&B sensation The Weeknd, also known as Abel Tesfaye, has made a lavish $70 million acquisition of a Bel Air mansion, marking one of this year’s most expensive property transactions in Los Angeles. Spanning around 33,000 square feet, the mansion boasts a plethora of luxurious features, including a gym, movie theater, music studio, sauna, hammam, and indoor pool. Outside, the estate boasts a sports court, an infinity pool with a waterfall, and a striking split staircase leading from the upper patio to the expansive lawn. Nestled on a 1.6-acre plot overlooking the Bel Air Country Club, this acquisition follows the recent sale of The Weeknd’s former residence to Madonna.

The opulent residence that The Weeknd has acquired was previously owned by Reinout Oerlemans, a prominent Dutch media magnate, and his spouse, the accomplished cyclist Danielle Oerlemans. Interestingly, the Oerlemans couple had no intentions of selling their property until Rayni and Branden Williams of Beverly Hills Estates expressed interest in showcasing it to Tesfaye. Ultimately, the Williams duo represented the Oerlemans, while Angel Salvador, another agent from Beverly Hills Estates, represented Tesfaye during the transaction.
