According to Forbes, Elon Musk has the highest personal wealth on the planet, with a net worth of $229.8 billion (about Rs 19,02,973 crore).
Surprisingly, though, he now lives in a modest two-bedroom house after abandoning the opulent palaces.
Walter Isaacson, Elon Musk’s biographer, recently shared a photo of the billionaire’s “spartan two-bedroom house” on X, the platform that replaced Twitter. Elon Musk sold five luxurious and spacious residences in 2020 before migrating to the prefabricated home, claims author Isaacson, who verified that Musk did, in fact, live in a modest two-bedroom home near Boca Chica, Texas.
“In 2020, Musk decided to sell his five grand houses and to have as his primary residence this spartan two-bedroom house in Boca Chica, TX, where we would meet and he would sit at this wood table and make phone calls,” he said in a tweet. For the unversed, Walter Isaacson is known for writing Steve Jobs’ biography among other books. In September 2023, his latest biography on Elon Musk is expected to be published.
According to Hello Magazine, Musk spent around $50,000 (approximately Rs 41 lakhs) to purchase the 375-square-foot prefab home created by the Las Vegas company, Boxabl.
According to Boxabl’s official website, the Casita home owned by Musk comes with a walk-in closet, full-size shower area, powder room, fireplace, family-size kitchen with modern appliances, a bedroom, and a living room.
The website also claims the prefab house to be fire, wind, water, and mold resistant. A glimpse into Musk’s neat home was given by Isaacson in the tweet. In the picture, one can notice fascinating objects like a rocket figure and a Japanese sword (Katana) on display. Check out the picture here:
