One of the most costly homes in the world is said to belong to Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani and his family. The largest mansion in the world, Istana Nurul Iman, belongs to the Sultan of Brunei rather than the Ambani family, whose Antilia maintains its status as an opulent fortress.

The Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, who also serves as Prime Minister of Brunei, resides in the Istana Nurul Iman palace. Since he was appointed the nation’s Sultan, Bolkiah has lived in the home for a number of years.

The Lakshmi Vilas Palace in Gujarat has a square footage of about 8 lakh square feet, compared to Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia’s approximate 4 lakh square feet. The Istana Nurul Iman, the palace of the Sultan of Brunei, is the largest residence in the world, measuring almost 2.2 million square feet.

Istana Nurul Iman, which translates to “Palace of Light and Faith,” is known for its enormous, immaculate lawn, golden domes, and enormous glass doors. The Palace of Brunei, which bested Buckingham Palace, the Louvre, and the Forbidden City to claim the title of largest palace in the world, is also listed in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Since the 1960s, Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah has made the palace his home, where he keeps his extensive collection of 7000 high-end cars. The automobiles are worth USD 5 billion, which is equivalent to Rs 41,600 crore in Indian rupees.
