The Tesla CEO frequently flies privately. According to flight logs obtained by The Washington Post, the millionaire traveled more than 241,000 kilometers (150,000 miles) aboard his G650ER in 2018. That is equivalent to orbiting the planet more than six times.

Musk has ordered the Gulfstream G700, one of Gulfstream’s newest jets, Austonia reported in June. Early in 2023, Musk is anticipated to receive the aircraft.

The Gulfstream G700’s exterior will be on exhibit in October 2022. In 2023, Elon Musk’s plane is scheduled to debut.

Flight Global stated that because the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is currently examining the jet’s software, deliveries of the G700 could be delayed by three to six months.

Currently, Musk has four jets. Gulfstream produced three of them. Additionally, Musk has a Dassault 900B, his very first aircraft. All of Musk’s aircraft are registered to Falcon Landing LLC, a “shell” business with connections to Space X, according to the FAA registry.

It costs 78 million US dollars.

The G700 is expensive to purchase and might be expensive to operate. The costs of operating the jet for 400 hours might total roughly $3.5 million, according to Liberty Jet. The costliest aspects of operating an airplane, according to an aviation website, are purchasing fuel and maintaining the engine.

These high operational costs are nothing new to Musk. Fuel for Musk’s G650ER trip on October 31 from Los Angeles to New Jersey cost $14,830, according to the Twitter account @ElonJet that monitors his flights. Musk spent around four and a half hours in the air, according to the report.

It’s the world’s largest purpose-built private jet
