The Weeknd Closes Sale of Spacious LA Penthouse for $19 Million

Canadian artist The Weeknd, also known as Abel Tesfaye, has successfully sold his expansive 8,215-square-foot penthouse situated in the prestigious Beverly West building, marking the end of a period of over 18 months without a buyer, as reported by The Real Deal.

Initially listed for $22.5 million in January 2022, the Grammy-winning musician eventually lowered the price to $19.75 million in an effort to attract interest. Ultimately, the penthouse was sold for $19 million, a reduction from the $21 million he initially paid for the property in 2019. However, The Weeknd seems unfazed, as he continues to reside in his impressive 33,000-square-foot Bel Air mansion, which he acquired for $70 million in 2021.

Spanning the entire 18th floor of the exclusive Beverly West building, the former penthouse features four bedrooms and six bathrooms. Sunlight floods the space through floor-to-ceiling windows, offering captivating views stretching from downtown Los Angeles to the Pacific Ocean and the Hollywood Hills. The penthouse’s design lends itself to hosting, with an open-plan entertaining area perfectly positioned to take advantage of the stunning vistas.

The residence offers multiple relaxation spaces, including various lounge areas and two balconies. Notable features of the home include an expansive wall-to-wall wine cellar, as well as an impressive bar area with an oversized waterfall countertop island crafted from black-and-white marble. The great room, primary bedroom, and a portion of the ensuite bathroom feature elegant wood-paneled walls.

The ensuite bathroom presents a luxurious soaking tub that provides scenic views of the Los Angeles Country Club. The remaining part of the bathroom is adorned with dark marble on the floors and walls, complemented by distinct shower and toilet enclosures.
