Bill and Melinda Gates spend $5 million for a daughter’s residence.

If you see skilled equestrian Jennifer Gates riding around uptown, don’t be shocked. Gimme Shelter has discovered that her affluent parents, Bill and Melinda Gates, have gifted her a $5 million home at 1212 Fifth Avenue.

The East Harlem sale was finalized in December 2017 and is reportedly meant for Jennifer, 22, to utilize once she graduates from Stanford in June. (She studies biology, and according to reports, she intends to enroll in New York’s medical schools. The medical school at Mount Sinai is conveniently just a few streets away.)

According to sources, Bill Gates used a trust managed by Watermark Estate Management Services LLC to make the acquisition. Bill Gates utilizes this trust for personal and family concerns.

The previous asking price for the three-bedroom apartment, which is 2,389 square feet and has breathtaking views of Central Park, was $5.25 million. The living/dining space has a view of the park on the west side, and the master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a spa-like feel. By architects George and Edward Blum, the structure was built in 1925. The property, which had a complete renovation in 2012 and was once occupied by Carmelo and La La Anthony, contains a gym, a residents’ lounge, and a kids’ playground.

The charitable power couple bought Jennifer a nearly $16 million, 124-acre horse farm in Westchester earlier this month, which is appropriate considering her background in equestrian sport.

The sellers of the residence were David and Martha Malkin Zornow.

Martha is the founder and first principle of Girls Prep Bronx Middle School, and David is the global head of litigation at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Wendy Sarasohn, Jamie Joseph, and Tania Isacoff of Brown Harris Stevens, the listing brokers, refused to comment.

Several floors below Jennifer’s apartment at 1212 Fifth Avenue, another one is up for sale for $4.9 million. The 2,389 square foot three-bedroom residence also has views of Central Park. There is a corner master bedroom with large windows and an eat-in chef’s kitchen. Recessed LED lighting and solid wood flooring are further features.

Julie Soffen, Marc Achilles, and Alexa Lambert of Stribling are the listed brokers.
