A small piece of Laucala Island in Fiji 🏝 paradise on earth !! The most exclusive private island in the world 🌎

Laucala Island is perhaps the most amazing destination on earth and the most amazing spot to visit in Fiji.

Laucala is the second-most expensive resort in the world, according to Director of Sales and Marketing Vincent Pauchon. What does it provide its visitors in exchange for $5,000 USD per night?

Dietrich Mateschitz, the owner of Red Bull, also owns the exclusive island of Laucala. He made the decision to buy it in 2003 and use it as a holiday for himself and his well-known friends.

After several years of careful planning and labor-intensive maintenance, lovely Laucala welcomed its first tourists in 2009. Dietrich reportedly frequents the resort between the months of March and December every year, according to reports.

Currently, global jet set tourists looking for total isolation, calm, exclusivity, and  inspiration frequently travel to Laucala.

Laucala Island Aerial View, Fiji

A large island, Laucala is made up of 3000 acres of lush vegetation, picture-perfect white sand beaches, and rugged hills. Surprisingly, there are just 25 luxurious villas there.

Each villa is the epitome of luxury and extravagance, but we admire the architects’ efforts to maintain the traditional Fijian design features of the villas, such as their free-flowing layouts, tall thatch roofs, and interior use of local materials like coconut husk, palm leaves, and local wood.

Although the 25 villas have a lot in common stylistically, they all differ in size and location. This resort is great for both family vacations and retreats for two because there are options for one, two, or three bedrooms. The villas’ locations are also up to you; some are positioned high above the ground in beautiful tropical gardens with unimpeded views of the ocean, while others are situated on a pristine private beach surrounded by coconut trees and a dense forest.

Peninsula Villa - Living Room (1)

One unique property, which is perfect for honeymooners, is set high above the water and resembles a fanciful castle. Since the overwater villas are the ultimate havens with their own jetty and wet edge rock pools, the staff claims to almost always see guests at the resort when they check into their overwater villa.

Overwater Villa

We stayed in a one-bedroom beachfront villa. About 300 square meters of excellent indoor and outdoor living spaces were included. We were completely private because of the lush green rainforest on all sides, and we had the beautiful beach to ourselves in the front.

Plantation Villa

We adore the ingenious layout of the homes, which allows for seamless indoor and outdoor living thanks to the living room and bedroom pavilions that open up to the garden and pool. Another notable item was the jellyfish chandelier.

The romantic ambiance is enhanced by the tikki torches that magically turn on at night and encircle the pool.

Plantation Villa Lounge

Every villa has a ton of amazing features, and everything is carefully planned. Using the buggy that came with our property to cruise the island at our own leisure was one of our favorite family outings. a wonderful treat for children.

The whole family is welcome to partake in any activity, despite Laucala being an expensive vacation destination. Laucala offers activities for all interests, including diving, submarine trips, golfing, water sports, and expert-led tennis lessons.

Laucala is the only resort in the world that offers guests a wonderfully distinctive way to observe the marine life.

Boating: Laucala is the proud owner of three magnificent craft: a modern diving and snorkeling boat, a luxury cruiser, and a boat for water sports and opulent snorkeling tours.

professional golf The resort’s 18-hole golf course is another gem. A golf pro is on hand to help you improve your swing or, if you’re a beginner, to show you the basics.

Visitors can also engage in a variety of motorized water sports, such as water skiing, jet skiing, wakeboarding, family-friendly banana boat tours, and more.

For those who prefer more relaxed water sports, there are paddle boards, catamarans, and kayaks available. While you tour the lagoon in certain kayaks constructed of completely transparent acrylic, you can see all the fish underneath them. Amazingly wonderful

Employees at Laucala will find the lagoon’s most tranquil place for snorkeling trips and take you there at any time of day. Everything is done upon request when the guests are ready to complete it. There is no need to make bookings or arrange in advance.

Divers have access to a professional diving facility, and all dives are included in the cost.

Activity - Diving

Laucala offers tennis and yoga for activities that take place on land. Both must be scheduled in advance; upon request, Laucala will send an individual tennis coach or yoga instructor to the island.

Youths in Laucala

At Laucala, children and families are warmly welcomed. Even though some visitors have children, honeymoon couples still have complete privacy and are not at all impacted by families due to the vastness of the island and the villas.

My 4-year-old son and I visited the island, and he adored it, our villa, all the activities, and the water sports personnel.

I would suggest this resort to kids and honeymooning couples alike. The balance of a genuine luxury resort is ideal in Laucala.

Spa

In stand-alone spa villas surrounded by tropical gardens and lily ponds, Laucala features a magnificent spa. Each stunning villa has a relaxation area for two people, an outside treatment terrace that can be wet or dry, equipped with either outdoor massage tables or Vichy showers, massage tables, a spa, and a bathroom.

Spa

Natural products, the majority of which were obtained the day before from the Spa Garden, are used in all treatments.

To produce their preferred aroma or massage oil, visitors can choose their own spices, fruit, and herb blossoms.

Every visitor to the island is given a beautiful, complimentary 90-minute spa treatment of their choice. I experienced a traditional Fijian massage, but I mostly dozed off. For me, it is an indication of a calming treatment that was executed flawlessly.

The next time, I’d really like to try their body scrub made with volcanic island soil and hot-and-cold stone therapy.

Dining

The food at Laucala is just as fantastic as everything else we have experienced there.

Our days began with a beautifully presented breakfast in the outdoor terrace of our villa.

Although the chef’s mantra is “Anything you like,” the holiday breakfast menu contains fantastic recommendations like French toast, pancakes, eggs, and fresh fruit if you’d rather make absolutely no decisions.

The french toast was absolutely fantastic, made in a style I’ve never experienced, and topped with delectable, crispy coconut flakes. My son’s favorite breakfast item was a bread basket filled with freshly baked breads and croissants served with homemade jams and watermelon juice.

The lovely woman who looked after us never left the villa without making me a cup of flavorful espresso and giving me a glass of sparkling water.

Lunch

In your villa, by the pool, or on the beach, lunch can be provided. Different restaurants have slightly different menus, but almost anything you like can be made just for you. With a glass of freshly opened French Champagne of their choosing, customers can enjoy lovely fresh salads, burrata and tomato caprese, charutterie plates, fresh seafood served either raw or grilled, and many other dishes.

Our favorite area was the café by the pool, though they are all great.

Dinner

Again, there are more options for dinner.

A six-course degustation meal that changes everyday is served at Plantation House, one of our absolute favorites. Gourmet designer food is presented flawlessly on a platter and has a sophisticated European aesthetic.

Restaurant - Plantation House (7)

The chef’s daily availability of products from the nearby farm and garden determines the menu.

In addition, Plantation House boasts a magnificent wine vault filled with fine French champagnes and wines. the most extensive choice in Fiji.

We tried Seagrass Lounge for an outdoor Asian dining experience.

It is perched high above the Coral Sea on a cliff, giving you breathtaking views of the blue lagoon below.

Excellent modern Asian cuisine is served in a lovely environment at the restaurant. Every Laucala menu features lobster, which we had in a variety of ways. Even the lobsters in Laucala are exceptionally delicate and sweet, though I have no idea how they are prepared. Fantastic!

Laucala-Seagrass-Lounge

Seagrass provides a private cliffside location for Teppaniyaki dining as well. While your private chef prepares the meats, seafood, or vegetables you’ve chosen for your gourmet supper, you can enjoy the sunset.

Laucala offers its visitors “Dining By Design”—private dinners placed either among the tropical bush (for an exotic twist), on a private beach, or on a jetty—for very romantic meals.

On the island, there were reportedly a few proposals, and not surprisingly, everyone accepted.

The Lux Traveler Appreciates

Even though I haven’t visited every seven-star resort in the world personally, I am confident Laucala is among the top five. It simply must exist!

You arrive on a private plane like a king.
