New Era Unveiled: Exploring the World’s First $644M Hydrogen-Powered Superyacht, a Revolution of Luxury

The innovative team at Sinot Yacht Design & Architecture showcased their vision for the future of luxury yachting, the Aqua 112-meter, at the 2019 Monaco Yacht Show. Aqua is one of very few ships using a fuel cell and liquid hydrogen to power its propulsion system.

The outside of this ship seems like it was carved out of the sea, with its smooth, undulating contours. The spectacular Aqua lounge on the Aqua offers never-before-seen panoramas, and the 360-degree viewing capsule in the ship’s stern is another remarkable feature. It’s not enough to just say that it’s luxurious.

The forward section of the ship is home to the luxurious guest quarters. The aft deck’s center waterfall and grand stairway are sure to wow any onlooker. The high ceilings inside give the space a feeling of openness, and the floor-to-ceiling windows showcase the ocean in all its glory.

The owners’ quarters have a luxurious bathroom, dressing room, and spa. A VIP suite, bathed in sunlight, is also available. It has a simple Japanese design and may be found at the ship’s rear. There is a hydro-massage room, a yoga room, and a wonderful and big workout area at the waterline aboard this boat, all of which contribute to the yacht’s overall impressiveness.

The ship’s thrusters run on energy produced by reforming liquid hydrogen. The power is also distributed to all onboard amenities. All of the ship’s electricity is stored in large batteries to ensure constant operation. Passengers’ on-board experience is improved, and the ship’s impact on the environment is lessened, since the system produces nearly little noise and no vibrations.
