After blocking Ronaldo twice in the World Cup, life of goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi changed completely

Ati-Zigi transferred from Red Bull Ghana, a feeder club in Ghana, to Red Bull Salzburg in January 2015. Ati-Zigi was promptly loaned to FC Liefering, a reserve squad that competes in the Austria 2 league.

 

Liga.[4] He joined other Ghanaian athletes including Raphael Dwamena and David Atanga.On April 17, 2015, Ati-Zigi made his league debut for Liefering in a 4-1 victory over TSV Hartberg at Untersberg-Arena.[4] Following his debut, he went on to participate in six straight league games. He participated in six league games towards the conclusion of his rookie campaign, helping Liefering place second in the 2014–15 Austrian Football First League.[3]

 

 

 

He played in 16 of the club’s 36 games the following year as they finished fourth in the Austrian Football First League. Additionally, he twice made the Red Bull Salzburg matchday roster, which earned him a medal when Salzburg won the Austrian Football Bundesliga in 2015–16.[5][3] He participated in 11 games during his final campaign with Liefering, which helped the team finish second in the 2016–17 Austrian Football First League.[3][6] During this two-year period, he appeared in 33 games for Liefering.
