Billionaire Elon Musk Admits Joking Remark About Wanting to Fight Mark Zuckerberg

The world’s wealthiest man, Elon Musk, recently posted on social network X that he was kidding when he challenged fellow billionaire Mark Zuckerberg to a battle.

After admitting that he was kidding when he issued a challenge, Tesla CEO Elon Musk selected a location for the race. Mark Zuckerberg, a self-made millionaire, continues to find excuses to say no.

“Challenge synopsis: I challenged Zuckerberg to a sparring match on topic X. Send me the address, he requested next. The Colosseum might now be built in Italy. Mark Zuckerberg said no. As a “safe space,” I suggested his home. That he is not here at this time is tragic. Elon Musk woke up on August 16 and asked the world, “Is there somewhere he can fight me?” through Twitter.

The question of whether or if Musk really wants the match to happen at this time was left unanswered.

On August 13, Facebook’s CEO Meta Zuckerberg sent out a statement regarding the match with Musk that was ambiguous at best, and he showed a wish to step back from the media attention surrounding the situation.

Elon first failed to confirm the date, then said he required surgery, and now he wants to do the rehearsal in his garden. He knows how to reach me if he’s serious about setting up a legitimate match. If not, there’s no use in keeping the plot going. The leader Meta said on August 13 that he will only compete against other serious athletes on the Threads platform.

Musk said on August 14 that he will visit CEO Meta at her home in Palo Alto that evening and webcast the visit live online. We’ll start fighting as soon as Zuck opens the door,” Musk added. But Zuckerberg wasn’t in Palo Alto at the time.

Mark takes this match extremely seriously and will not agree to play with someone suddenly showing at his residence, a spokesperson for CEO Meta told The Verge on August 15.

As reported by Bloomberg, Elon Musk proposed the June 30 cage bout with Mark Zuckerberg. He needed to see the doctor and could require surgery, so he couldn’t complete the match. He also conceded that if he battles CEO Meta for an extended period of time, he stands to lose.

Musk and Zuckerberg have been debating nonstop on X and Threads about the dispute as of late, but many outsiders still don’t believe it will ever happen. I have my doubts about it happening. “The idea is interesting, but the reality could backfire and create discomfort,” University of South Carolina sociologist Mathieu Deflem told Bloomberg.
