Embark on a Lavish Cape Adventure: Unveiling South Africa’s Breathtaking Landscapes through a Self-Drive Expedition

For a couple commemorating their golden wedding anniversary, this luxury Cape vacation was designed. They were interested in the stunning South African countryside and outdoor activities, so we created this self-driving holiday package to take them to some of the country’s most picturesque locations.

In stunning Cape Town, they began their luxurious Cape vacation. They stayed at Twelve Apostles, an opulent inn with a view of the city in the mountains. They had dinner on their personal veranda with stunning views of the sunset on their first night in the city. Thanks to the convenience of their rental car, they subsequently had plenty of free time for the following three days to explore Cape Town and its surroundings.

They then traveled in spectacular fashion to the Strandloper Ocean Boutique Hotel in the historic fishing community of Paternoster. During their two-night stay, they kayaked early in the morning to observe the neighborhood penguin colony, experienced a traditional South African braai (barbecue) on the beach right outside the hotel, and explored Paternoster’s attractions and delicious food.

They spent three nights at Bushmans Kloof, a remote wilderness lodge at the base of the Cederberg Mountains, as part of their luxury Cape Town vacation. After enjoying a beautiful lunch and a free bottle of local wine, they went on a nighttime wildlife drive to see the nocturnal animals that live nearby the resort. Over the following three days, they had the opportunity to leisurely day hike through the lovely mountain site and go on a canoe trip.

They traveled to the Grand Dédale country house in the western Winelands to round out their luxury Cape vacation. They rode bikes through the breathtaking mountain scenery, strolled through the vineyards, and tasted fine South African wine at the estate’s winery.

Their penultimate stop on their luxury Cape vacation was Grootbos Forest Lodge, where they completed their luxury South Africa tour. They had the opportunity to see the Marine Big 5, which included sharks and whales, go on guided excursions through valleys covered in vibrant wildflowers, discover fantastical woods, and unwind on their individual deck while taking in the local animals.

After spending two weeks surrounded by the most stunning landscapes in South Africa, their luxury Cape vacation came to an end. They made their way to the airport and departed for home.
