Unveiling the Interior Elegance of the Mazu 92 DS Model

As the first model in the 28.5-meter steel Mazu 92 DS series nears completion, the Turkish shipyard Mazu Yachts has released an inside look.

The model is Mazu’s first step into steel construction and is the precursor of the 112 DS and 132 DS, two further vessels in a new series of semi-displacement vessels.

The new model, which has a beam of 6.8 meters and a draught of 1.9 meters, was designed by Red Yacht Design. The carbon composite materials used in its superstructure help keep its weight down and its center of gravity low.

An raised pilothouse, a vertical bow, and a two-tone hull are all features of the boat’s striking outward appearance. For overnight guests, there is a full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck’s forward widebody, as well as two forward single cabins and a full-beam VIP.

The Mazu 92 DS has a large swim platform, ideal for towing a tender or Jet Ski along for the ride. The bulwarks on this platform fold down, making it possible to expand it while moored or at anchor. Sliding glass transom doors lead to a bar and beach club.

The lounge is asymmetrical, with an L-shaped sofa to port and armchairs to starboard, and is accessed through an external stairway that is lighted at night. The decor is restful, with white walls, light wood parquet floors, and splashes of blue here and there.

Inventor and product designer Halit Yukay said of the new Mazu, “I feel we’ve produced something unique that will disrupt the market. It seems like you’re on a boat that’s at least 10 meters longer thanks to the spacious cabin and tall windows.

According to Yukay, the three Volvo IPS 1050 machines housed in the DS series’ displacement steel shell are the series’ most interesting feature. The model’s top speed is projected to be 22 knots.

Mazu’s ability to handle many projects at once is shown by the fact that building has already started on a second 92 DS being built to spec and that plans for the first 112 DS have been revealed.

Meanwhile, the new 112DS’s design will be locked down this summer, and the model is expected to debut this year.
