Ophelia Concept’s Global Impact: Ioana Valentina Corcodel’s 65m Masterpiece Takes Center Stage

Romanian designer Ioana Valentina Corcodel’s 65-meter eco-conscious idea titled Ophelia got her nominated for this year’s BOAT International Young Designer of the Year Award presented by Oceanco.

The plan is for five stories, and it is distinguished by solar panels that cover its outside to provide renewable energy and increase efficiency. The façade is made up of both futuristic-looking metals and more conventional teak decking.

To keep the inside cool and pleasant, a kinetic solar-sensitive shutter system may be installed on the side windows and set to open and close automatically in reaction to solar radiation. In addition, the interior has a dancefloor equipped with angular panels that convert visitors’ footprints into energy.

According to Corcodel, the decor was crafted with a long-term owner in mind who “needs a comfortable space where he feels at home.” As a result, the proprietor lives in a cabin that is two stories tall and has an open atrium, a private library, and a separate office space. The interiors are designed to encourage a state of calm by being furnished in “warm tones of wood” and featuring a variety of plants and greenery. There is a spa and a “atrium-style garden” for passengers to enjoy.

The images also show a swimming platform, a sunbathing lounger, and a forward hot spring on the flybridge, as well as a cocktail bar and al fresco eating places.

Corcodel, a maritime design firm located in Milan, has worked with Alberto Simeone and Jalmara Oy in the past.
