Justin Bieber’s LA Home: A Resemblance to a Giant Salad Spinner

A salad turner. CDs in a heap. BBC Television Center. Twitter users have described 1169 Loma Linda Drive in Los Angeles with the aforementioned terms. Without the fact that it was formerly Justin Bieber’s home, its unusual design would have gone overlooked.

The “Yummy” singer really used to live here in Beverly Hills. Despite what many tweeters may have you think, Bieber actually leased the mansion five years ago, in 2015. The monthly rent was close to $60,000.

The home, designed by Ed Niles and finished in 2009, is quite the sight. It shares its huge, modernist look with other works by the same famous architect, such as a former $53 million industrial California beach mansion and a $4.2 million gigantic glass house in Malibu.

Another Los Angeles mansion that has drawn online ridicule for its design is Pharrell Williams’s opulent Beverly Hills mansion, which he just put on the market for $17 million. Anonymous reviewers on the Internet drew parallels to the workplace and the university campus.

The Loma Linda Drive home boasts an elevator, an infinity pool, and parking for six cars, in addition to six bedrooms, six and a half baths, and 7,500 square feet of living space. The problems that commentators had with the design mirrored those that Bieber had. Highsnobiety claims that the pop diva fled after just two months because the glass façade made her too visible to the paparazzi. It was once offered for $14.995 million, but is no longer available via the Multiple Listing Service. We can’t help but think that an inexperienced assistant leased it to Bieber because of its large size, proximity to Beverly Hills, and breathtaking views.

The house has gained notoriety on the web before. More than 250 million people have seen the music video for “It’s Everyday Bro” by popular YouTuber Jake Paul, which was posted in 2017.

But where, oh where, does Bieber call home at the moment? The singer has now downsized her land in Ontario, Canada to the tune of $5 million, and her Beverly Hills mansion to $8.5 million. Even though Bieber only bought the latter in March of this year, he’s already thinking about selling it: “I wanna sell it I think anyone is interested?” he said on Instagram in October. As of now, we have no idea whether anybody has taken him up on his offer.
