Step Inside Kawhi Leonard’s Lavish $17M Palisades Mansion

Kawhi Leonard is free to live anywhere he wants thanks to a $103 million contract that he has signed and the looming potential of his upcoming free agency. The Rolls-Royce-driving Clippers star instead chose to invest $17.1 million in an opulent, albeit somewhat conventionally constructed property set on a peninsula with stunning ocean views in the Pacific Palisades district of Los Angeles.

Of course, the Moreno Valley resident, 29, is accustomed to making lavish real estate acquisitions. Leonard still has a house in Rancho Santa Fe, California, an equestrian-friendly San Diego suburb, which he paid $13.3 million for in 2019. And throughout the basketball season, he lives in a $6.7 million condo at the opulent Ritz Carlton Residences at L.A. Live, the skyscraper condominium complex that soars above the Staples Center and is home to wealthy residents like fellow professional basketball player Lonzo Ball, Lakers owner Jim Buss, and horror film king Jason Blum.

Leonard’s third home is located on a gated, fenced property in an isolated part of the Westside.A total of 82 acres. The building, which is referred to as a “custom Hamptons-style home,” was created and built by notoriously brazen film producer Ryan Kavanaugh, who also founded the insolvent Relativity Media. Kavanaugh’s approximately 12,000 square foot estate was listed for sale in February 2019 with a $25 million asking price. The asking price dropped to $17.5 million after two years of being on and off the market before Leonard made a reduced offer.

The façade of the house has medium grey siding that contrasts with the white trim and copper gutters. The majority of the hotel’s public spaces have views of the nearby hills and the ocean. The main living room and the step-down living room are separated by a dual-sided fireplace; both rooms have vaulted ceilings and foldaway glass doors that lead directly to outside terraces.

The family room, like many other rooms in the house, is nearly totally white and has a second fireplace. It is connected to the sizable kitchen, which has a butler’s pantry, an eat-in breakfast bar, and high-end Wolf and SubZero appliances. The main level also has a formal dining room, at least one maid’s suite, and a broad staircase leading to the upstairs family chambers.

Two folding glass doors connect the master bedroom to a separate balcony. There are two walk-in closets and two “couples” bathrooms with separate rooms joined by a huge glass shower with numerous showerheads and a window that resembles a porthole.
