David Beckham’s $20M Miami Penthouse: A Luxurious Oasis with a Private Helipad Revealed

Goooaaalll! David Beckham just dropped $20 million for an apartment with a rooftop helipad in Miami’s exclusive One Thousand Museum skyscraper.

Former Spice Girl and current fashion designer Victoria Beckham is married to soccer star David Beckham, and the couple has just closed on a five-bedroom, full-floor condo in the newly built 62nd-floor Zaha Hadid-designed tower.

The influential couple bought the 11,000-square-foot condo because they want to relocate to Florida. David, 44, is a co-owner of the Major League Soccer club Inter Miami CF, which made its debut last month against the Los Angeles Galaxy and lost, 1-0.

Newly called Miami Freedom Park and set to open in 2022, the $1 billion stadium is being built by Beckham and his fans.

It is unclear where in the famous structure the Beckhams will make their home. One two-story penthouse, four townhouses, and seventy half-floor flats make up the building’s total of 84 apartments, of which theirs is one. The price tags start at $59,000,000 and go up to $21,855,000.

The One Thousand Museum building is the first and only residential project built by Iraqi-born celebrity architect Zaha Hadid. It is located in Miami’s downtown and offers stunning views of the city and Biscayne Bay. The architect, winner of the 2016 Pritzker Prize, passed away in March while the skyscraper was still under construction in Miami.

Due to its exoskeleton design, the 705-foot-tall skyscraper was given the nickname “Scorpion Tower” and was featured in an episode of the PBS documentary series Impossible Builds.

The Beckhams may take use of the hotel-level services available in the premises. There is a private beach club, a state-of-the-art multi-media theater, and a state-of-the-art fitness center in addition to the 61st floor swimming pool.

The famous New York pastry chef Mame Sow serves as the One Thousand Museum’s culinary director, and Hadid’s arching, water drop-patterned interior walls can be seen throughout the majestic double-height Sky Lounge.

The Beckhams and their four children will be able to utilize the building’s own rooftop helicopter, the first of its kind on a residential skyscraper in Miami, to enter and depart the building without having to worry about being followed by photographers.

David Beckham’s partnership and licensing company, Beckham Brands Limited, bought the property. It seems that the transaction was planned in the fall of 2016 and was closed in the latter half of March.

The Beckhams seem to have paid market value for their condo, as reports put the price at $20 million. The public records show that a similar penthouse sold on March 19 for $13.8 million.

The unique million isn’t anything the pair need worry about, however. In addition to the $900 million in the bank, they have a beautiful $36 million house in London’s Holland Park and a $7.5 million country estate in the remote Cotswolds.
