Discover the Astonishing 269-Foot Superyacht Concept with a Pool Larger Than Your Garage

Last August, Anthony Glasson of M51 Concepts unveiled Forge, an explorer yacht inspired by volcanos. Now, he has disclosed a “less extreme” follow-up idea for more conservative seafarers.

Appropriately named Forge II, the 269-foot vessel has the same angular profile as its antecedent, albeit in a slightly more subdued manner. The Hong Kong studio designed the interior and exterior of the vessel, which is composed of ice-class steel and lightweight aluminium. Instead of the obsidian black and vibrant orange that covered the original Forge, the exterior is finished in subdued metallic greys.

Before founding M51, Glasson spent over a decade as a superyacht engineer. According to him, the primary difference between the two designs is the aft deck. In lieu of a helipad and a storage facility, Forge II features a 25-by-11-foot swimming pool. (This is roughly the extent of a one-car garage.)

Additionally, the main veranda features a semi-enclosed dining area and lounge that can be enjoyed in any season. The sun deck has a hot pool, a barbecue, a bar and daybeds, while the bridge deck has a formal dining table for 14 guests.

Two VIP suites and four twin staterooms can accommodate up to 12 guests within the superyacht’s interior. Depending on the configuration of the crew accommodations, it can accommodate either 25 or 23 crewmembers. Having two VIPs as opposed to an owner’s suite makes Forge II ideally adapted for charters. The VIPs are situated on either side of the upper deck and feature expansive windows that extend from floor to ceiling. On the main deck are the remaining visitor accommodations.

The living accommodations feature a traditional minimalist design with a soft colour palette and an assortment of organic materials. In contrast, the cabins have a contemporary atmosphere with dark surfaces and bright furnishings. In addition, there is a gym, spa, and a fully supplied tender garage.

Glasson states that the Forge II would be powered by Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) turbines and batteries. He anticipates a range of 5,000 nautical miles.

Glasson stated in a statement, “I set out to design a yacht with an imposing presence and a look meant to inspire a go-anywhere confidence.” The vessel wound up being quite aggressive.
