Explore the inside of the first Superyacht from Columbus

The new Columbus 80m superyаcht from this Itаliаn yаrd is а promising sign of things to come.

In 2019, Columbus Yachts will deliver its first superyacht. Right out of the gate, the 80-meter Columbus yacht is expected to capture the attention of the superyacht community. The classic exterior of the 261-footer, with a 43-foot beam, was influenced by the iconic lines of ocean liners from the 1950s. It also has one of the coolest swimming pool/Jаcuzzi combinations on a yacht, precisely planned areas for 12 guests, a staff of 19, and, of course, the owner. The six-deck yacht also has enticing modern elements like a glass elevator connecting five decks.

The owners have a fully functional deck that they may use. Their apartment has two bathrooms, a walk-in changing area, and a full-beam bedroom at the bow with a 180-degree panoramic view of the water. Additionally, the deck has a separate office and a private salon for unwinding or hosting visitors.

Six spacious guest cabins are located in the forward half of the main deck, and a seventh cabin is available for guests on the lower deck. The beach club, located on the lower deck in the stern, is also open to guests. The usable space increases from 1,100 to 2,200 square feet when the beach club’s side bulkheads slide outward from both sides of the yacht. The beach club also has a bar, a shower, and a sauna. A full gym is located on the sky bridge, and there is a movie theater on the upper deck. On this yacht, the staff even has access to a private gym. The 23-foot pool with its own counter-current swimming system, waterfall, and large Jacuzzi is undoubtedly the coolest feature.

Different parts of the yacht are being built at Columbus’ shipyards in Ancona and Naples, which are both part of the Palumbo Group, a significant global shipbuilding conglomerate. Later this month, the steel hull will be transported from Naples to Ancona where it will be linked to the aluminum superstructure to complete the interior fit-out. The wedding will be held in a brand-new facility that Columbus developed just for building superyachts.

Twin MTU 16V 4000 M63L diesels will power the Columbus 80m, giving it a top speed of 16.5 knots. The new Columbus will be able to recreate Christopher Columbus’s first voyage of across the Atlantic for the New World and back again since it will travel at a speed of 12 knots and have a range of 6,000 nautical miles.
