Seabourn Pursuit: Unveiling Their Second Purpose-Built Ultra-Luxury Expedition Ship

In a nautical ceremony at Genoa’s T. Mariotti shipyard, Seabourn, the leader in ultra-luxury and adventure travel, received its second expedition ship, Seabourn Pursuit. The second purpose-built, ultra-luxury expedition ship, Seabourn Pursuit, is the newest in the business.

“I am honored to share this incredible moment with the entire Seabourn family as we welcome Seabourn Pursuit, our highly anticipated second ultra-luxury expedition ship, into our fleet,” said Seabourn President Natalya Leahy. Seabourn Pursuit redefines ultra-luxury adventure travel with Mariotti workmanship, ample space, and Tihany Design beauty. We thank Mariotti and Tihany Design for developing and realizing our guest dream.”

Leahy noted that the modern Seabourn Pursuit would have the right mix of luxury and adventure. Seabourn Pursuit combines our hallmark luxury and elegance with exploration and adventure. Our passengers are amazing individuals seeking unique experiences, thus the ship is skillfully created. Visitors will experience Seabourn’s ultra-luxury style and intelligent, customized service as the ship brings them to awe-inspiring sites across the globe that few will ever visit.

T. Mariotti Managing Director Marco Ghiglione remarked, “Today, one year after the delivery of Seabourn Venture, we are very happy to have completed and delivered her sister ship, Seabourn Pursuit.” We’re thrilled to have created Seabourn’s most luxurious expedition ship, one of the top luxury cruise lines. T. Mariotti shipyard has produced another Italian shipbuilding masterpiece, proving our superiority in this field. Seabourn, all those participating on this voyage, Lloyd’s Register, and Adam Tihany’s pencil gave us the new expedition jewel.”

Seabourn Pursuit offers the same luxurious “yacht-like” small ship experience as Seabourn, enhanced by world-class equipment that allows the line to offer its widest range of expedition activities led by an expert 24-person expedition team of scientists, scholars, naturalists, and more. Seabourn Pursuit is PC6 Polar Class-built for remote, varied situations and will include a variety of current gear and technology to expand its worldwide deployment and capabilities. Seabourn Pursuit offers about 30,000 square feet of deck area and every detail. Indoor and outdoor guest spaces have approximately 270-degree vistas, and a 4K GSS Cineflex Camera on the Constellation Lounge tower can display footage from kilometers ahead on shipwide and guest room monitors.

Like the other Seabourn ships, Pursuit has plenty of room and elegance, eight gourmet dining restaurants, and magnificent all-suite accommodations, including two two-level Wintergarden suites.

Seabourn Pursuit will commence service on August 12, 2023, and sail five Mediterranean cruises before two Atlantic and Caribbean excursions. On October 10, 2023, the ship will arrive in Barbados to begin its expeditions to distant parts of the world. Seabourn Pursuit will explore coastal South America, the Amazon, and Antarctica until late March 2024.

After its first Antarctic season, the ship will transit the South Pacific islands and sail to Australia, where it will begin its maiden Kimberley expedition between June and August 2024. A world-class adventure is perfect for the Kimberley, with its red sandstone gorges, rivers, waterfalls, animals, and Aboriginal heritage. Between March and October 2024, Seabourn Pursuit will explore the Kimberley, Papua New Guinea, West Papua, Indonesia, and the South Pacific between Chile and Melanesia.
