Royal Caribbean International is set to launch the world’s largest superyacht, the Icon of the Seas, for its maiden voyage in the Caribbean in January 2024.

“Upon its debut in the Caribbean, the Icon of the Seas will have a capacity to accommodate 5,610 passengers and will be staffed by 2,350 crew members,” announced Michael Bayley, President, and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.

This extraordinary superyacht will offer passengers access to a seaside water park featuring a swimming pool and an impressive array of six world-record-breaking waterslides. Additionally, on October 26, 2023, the Icon of the Seas will officially join the Royal Caribbean fleet in anticipation of its 2024 sailing season.

Internally, the superyacht, designed to cater to over 5,600 passengers, incorporates state-of-the-art technology, building upon the company’s five decades of industry experience.

The water park, known as Category 6, will boast a remarkable six waterslides, while those seeking a more relaxed experience can unwind in the yacht’s seven pools and nine whirlpools.

Furthermore, the superyacht offers an extensive selection of more than 40 dining and entertainment options, with the majority included in the ticket price.

The superyacht’s interior features 28 distinct room categories to accommodate various types of travelers, including large cabins with scenic sea views designed for group tourists.

Royal Caribbean International devoted considerable effort to crafting family-oriented suites that can accommodate over 5,600 passengers on this superyacht.

Pre-sales for this remarkable superyacht are already shattering records, with Michael Bayley hailing the Icon of the Seas as “undoubtedly the most successful new product launch the company has ever seen” in a recent quarterly financial report.

The Icon of the Seas will operate year-round, offering seven-day voyages from Miami to the Caribbean and back.

A team of more than 2,600 individuals has been diligently working on the Icon of the Seas, with hundreds of experts participating in a comprehensive four-day sea trial to assess its performance. According to Royal Caribbean, the second phase of sea trials is scheduled to continue until the end of 2023.
