Jay-Z’s Rare Gift to LeBron James: D’USSE 1969 Anniversaire Bottle

A difficult time has come for LeBron James. He’s been involved in some contentious plays, dealt with a very terrifying fan, and is now eagerly awaiting recovery from an ankle injury so he may return to the court.

When all hope appeared lost, his fortunes suddenly changed dramatically. Upon his return, he found a present waiting for him at home, and it was from Jay-Z himself. LeBron James recorded himself unwrapping a gift he was sure would blow his mind, and then he showed it to the world.  A magnificent and extremely pricey bottle of D’USSÉ 1969 Anniversaire Cognac was presented to the NBA champion as a gift.

Let’s start with the fact that Jay-Z personally gave this bottle in order to demonstrate its genuine worth to anybody who may be unfamiliar with it.

This is not only one of the rarest, oldest, most expensive, and highest-quality bottles anybody will ever come across, but it also comes with the bragging rights that come along with that fact alone.

Rare and expensive, this bottle of cognac is out of reach for most people. Only fifty of these very rare bottles of D’Ussé 1969 Anniversaire were produced.

The high cost of cognac includes the cost of the bottle it is sold in. Jay Z developed this special bottle, a diamond shape, himself. It was made in 2019 to celebrate Jay-Z’s 50th birthday. He sent some of the 50 bottles he had created to his loved ones with personalized labels and numbers.

For an idea of how much these bottles are worth now, consider that Jay-Z recently auctioned off one of them: “Bottle No. 1,” the very first bottle ever produced, sold at Sotheby’s in March for $52,500, with the proceeds going to the Shawn Carter Foundation. RapUp claims that “24-karat gold foil was wrapped around the neck and engraved with JAY-Z’s signature.”

LeBron was obviously surprised to get a present from Jay-Z, and he was completely taken aback to see this bottle inside.

LeBron’s astonishment and thankfulness shone through as he carefully and slowly unboxed this magnificent present for his supporters. This young man is a true gem. Diamonds from D’Ussé last a lifetime. I suppose that Cognac, too, is eternal. Ten-year mark since 1969. Respect, big brother. Thank you very much.
