Brad Pitt Quietly Lists Los Feliz Compound for Approximately $40 Million Amid Ongoing Divorce Battle with Angelina Jolie

Brad Pitt is selling his Los Feliz residence after more than two marriages. The actor surreptitiously advertised the mansion for $40 million this month, sources say.

Elvira alum Cassandra Peterson sold the property to Babylon in 1994. The cost was $1.7 million. Brad made several improvements throughout his almost 30 years as owner. The actor expanded the mansion by buying neighboring houses, which now include a pool, tennis court, and ice rink.

The estate has roughly 2 acres and 6,690 square feet of residential area. A source told PEOPLE that Brad is selling to downsize. “[He’s] looking for something smaller,” the source said, adding he wants a Los Angeles home.

Brad and Angelina Jolie raised their six children in Los Feliz, which was their full-time home. Angelina filed for divorce in 2016 after a private aircraft fight. Their divorce wasn’t completed until 2019. The ex-couple still struggle over custody and their possessions, particularly the French vineyard they bought together.

Brad is selling one of his most opulent residences, but he still owns many others. Last year, the Inglorious Bastards alum spent $40 million for a Carmel Highlands home. The 1997 ocean view mansion has been upgraded many times.

Brad has never hidden his passion of building and design. His 2020 documentary on Frank Lloyd Wright’s life and work followed a 2012 exclusive partnership with furniture designer Frank Pollaro. Brad added, “I love that architecture is this huge art piece you can be inside,” in an Oprah interview. It “lifts your soul and affects your mindset.”

Brad’s new house, wherever he settles, will be gorgeous due to his love of home design.
