Lionel Messi’s Latest Investment: A $10.8 Million Fort Lauderdale Residence

The Argentine soccer player Lionel Messi and his wife Antonela Roccuzzo recently paid $10.8 million in an off-market transaction to purchase a beachfront home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Disclosure of the deal was first reported by The Real Deal.

The Bay Colony home at 91 Compass Lane is a spacious 10,486 square feet. It has a pool, two docks, and eight bedrooms, nine and a half bathrooms, and a three-car garage.

The Inter Miami soccer stadium is also nearby. Messi, whose native Argentina won the World Cup in December, signed with Inter Miami in July. A group of investors including David Beckham, Jorge and José Mas, and the Mas brothers, control the squad.

The house was built in 1988 and has 170 feet of shoreline and 0.44 acres of land. The work of designer Lori Morris, as shown in Florida Design.

A 27-foot-tall dome welcomes guests inside the residence, which also includes a chef’s kitchen, a spa, a media room, an office, and a 1,600-square-foot master bedroom. 

Messi was represented by Samuel and Donna Simpkin of Compass. In May of 2022, owners John and Stacy Dickerson sold the property for $9 million. The seller’s agent, Jennifer Abbott of ONE Sotheby’s International, was present throughout the transaction.
