Rihanna Welcomes a New Member with a Sky-High Century City Penthouse Splurge!

Rihanna has made The Century, one of Los Angeles’ most expensive and prestigious residences, her primary residence since 2014. With a newborn, a second kid on the way, staff, and her continuous entourage, she is feeling a little cramped in her three-bedroom, 3,500 square foot home.

The Barbadian celebrity spent $21 million to buy one of The Century’s largest homes, a penthouse that occupies the entire 40th floor of the building, in order to remedy this situation. With more than 9,000 square feet of living space, a number of unique features, and breath-taking views, the spread is suitable for any A-lister.

Nick Molnar, a billionaire co-founder of the internet company Afterpay, sold the condo for less than his initial asking price of $28 million. However, given the sale was completed on March 31, only one day before the new tax took effect, Rihanna must have negotiated a large discount and utilized L.A.’s mansion tax as leverage. If the purchase had been made in April instead of March, Molnar would have had to pay an additional $1.1 million in taxes.

As soon as guests step off the private elevator landing into the condo’s entrance gallery, they are stunned by the curved wall of floor to ceiling windows in the living area, which affords views of the metropolitan skyline. The kitchen is all white with marble countertops, two islands, and high-end appliances. The dining area has dark brown hardwood floors that continue into the kitchen.

Along with a master suite featuring a curved bedroom, two custom closets, two bathrooms, and a separate lounge, the property also includes a soundproof movie theater with velour couches. Probably the most striking aspects of the condo are its four unique outdoor terraces, which offer panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, Catalina Island, Downtown Los Angeles skyscrapers, the San Gabriel mountains, and even snow-capped Mount Baldy. The terraces face north, south, east, and west.

Rihanna pays a hefty $8,814 in monthly HOA dues for her penthouse, but in return, she has access to all of the building’s best features, such as four deeded parking spaces in the garage, a 24-hour concierge, security guards, use of an outdoor pool and lush gardens, on-site storage, an on-site restaurant, conference rooms, and much more.
