Notorious B.I.G.’s famous apartment in New York City is worth $1.7 million

The Post says that the well-known Brooklyn home of Notorious B.I.G. is for sale for $1.7 million.

The renowned Brooklyn residence of Notorious B.I.G. is up for sale for $1.7 million, according to The Post.

Born Christopher George Latore Wallace, the legendary New York rapper owned the flat in 1994 and resided there with his wife, Faith Evans, and her daughter, Chyna Tahjere Gryphon.

While residing in the Fort Greene neighbourhood, Biggie Smalls published one of his most notable albums, “Ready to Die.”

The two-bedroom, two-bathroom duplex is located just a few blocks from the street named after the legendary musician.

Through the numerous depictions of Biggie in street art and murals, the magnitude of his legacy can be experienced. The rapper grew up at 226 St. James Place in Clinton Hill. His childhood flat now leases for more than $4,000 per month, as reported by The Post.

The present owner, Caroline Duncan, is a well-known costume designer who has worked on award-winning shows like “The Affair” and “When They See Us.”

Duncan bought the house in 2011 and then did a full remodel. The apartment has a custom library, walk-through closets, and a lot of lofted room. It is called a “chic artistic sanctuary.”

Duncan told The Post, “When I moved in, the basement was just a raw space with concrete floors.” “I built a bathroom out of barn wood with modern touches, a huge walk-through closet to show off my clothes and accessories collection, a laundry room, and bedrooms.”

She also said, “Upstairs was made up of a bunch of small rooms that were hard to understand, so I did the opposite and tore down all the walls to make a big lofted space.” “I loved the neighborhood, the fact that it was close to Fort Greene Park, that the building was on the Historic Register, and that it had all the makings of a real artist’s home.”
