Regent Seven Seas Cruises Partners with Fabergé for an Exclusive European Voyage of Luxury

The new Fabergé Spotlight Voyages were being planned by Regent Seven Seas Cruises when customers were griping about spending $8 for a dozen eggs last spring. It’s the first time a cruise company has ever teamed up with the jeweler-to-the-royals, who is famed for creating eggs that are more valuable than a Bentley all by themselves when fully decorated. The unnamed sailor who paid $2.2 million for the Game of Thrones dragon egg joined the first Fabergé Spotlight Voyage back in June.

Stockholm, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Tallinn, and London were all on the initial 10-night itinerary. Lady Penny Mountbatten accompanied guests on a special tour of Westminster Abbey. Ralph Heimans, the royal portrait artist best known for painting Queen Elizabeth II for her Diamond Jubilee, was on board, and passengers got to chat with him. Fabergé’s friendship with the royals made both opportunities feasible.

She tells Robb Report that the connection with Fabergé is growing because it reflects Regent’s commitment to providing luxury guests with authentic, one-of-a-kind experiences that are both educational and entertaining. On July 1, 2024, the Seven Seas Grandeur, the newest all-suite all-balcony ship from Regent Seven Seas Cruises, will set sail from Rome on the next Fabergé Spotlight Voyage. This 10-night Mediterranean cruise will begin in Salerno and continue on to Malta, Palma de Mallorca, Provence, and finally Monte Carlo.

Fabergé’s curatorial director, Dr. Géza von Habsburg, was the special guest of honor on the first Fabergé Spotlight Voyage. On sea days, he held free Q&A sessions where he discussed the origins of the legendary brand, which was created by a French exile in Russia in the 1840s. Sarah Fabergé, the great-granddaughter of Fabergé creator Peter Carl Fabergé and the ship’s godmother in 2024, will be the special guest of honor. She’ll be hosting parties and teaching workshops on how to create enamel jewelry on board the floating Fabergé store. The most luxurious store at sea, including a wide variety of items for sale.

The artwork Journey in Jewels, however, will not be for sale. In November, on the first voyage of the Seven Seas Grandeur, this one-of-a-kind work of art commissioned by Regent Seven Seas Cruises will be presented as the first Fabergé egg to be permanently exhibited on a cruise ship.

DeMarco said that “Journey in Jewels” would be around 18 cm tall thanks to its three-tiered foundation, which concealed the mechanism that allowed the egg to open. The movement has never been concealed by Fabergé before.
