Hugh Jackman Acquires New York City Penthouse for $21.125 Million

As far as we can tell, the apartment was last sold in 2012 for a total of $19.4 million. Since October 2021, when it first hit the market for $25 million, the penthouse has been on and off the market.

Both Daniel Fischel and Sylvia Neil are involved as vendors. Mr. Fischel was the dean of the University of Chicago Law School and is now the president of the worldwide economic consultancy firm Compass Lexecon. Ms. Neil held the position of associate dean there. No one answered when we called Mr. Fischel’s office.

According to the listing with Noble Black of Douglas Elliman, the four-bedroom, almost 4,700-square-foot apartment was created by architect Jean Nouvel. The penthouse has a wide roof terrace with separate seating and dining rooms, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows that reach a height of around 14 feet. According to the description, residents may enjoy views of the Hudson River, as well as the cityscapes of Midtown and Downtown New York.

There are 57 apartments in the building, and residents have access to a swimming pool, gym, and theater.

No one representing Mr. Jackman could be contacted for comment right away.

Timely, as Mr. Jackman and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, have just put their $38.9 million apartment up for sale in a neighboring Richard Meier–designed skyscraper on Perry Street. The Corcoran Group’s Deborah Grubman, David Adler, and Paul Albano are the listing agents for the apartment.

The Greatest Showman,” “The Wolverine,” and “X-Men” are just a few of the films in which Mr. Jackman has starred. The Broadway production of “The Music Man” has him as the lead.
