These forests are known for being beautiful and important for the environment. These woods are home to many different kinds of plants and animals. There are more than 1,000 species of higher plants, about 1,200 species of fungi, and many species of trees, such as spruce, fir, beech, and oak.

Austria has five forests that are worth seeing.

The Forest of Bregenzerwald:

This forest is in the western part of Austria and is famous for its beautiful scenery and large number of spruce and fir trees. It also has a number of traditional mountain towns and the Bregenzerwald Nature Park, which protects the unique plants and animals that live in the area.

It is known for its spruce and larch woods and alpine meadows. This national park is in the state of Carinthia. It also has a number of mountain lakes, such as the Millstatter See, which people like to swim in and go boating on.
