Hallstatt, Austria is just as dreamy as people say it is. Picture beautiful mountain ranges, clear blue skies, and a European town on the water that looks like it belongs on a picture. It doesn’t take long to walk around the whole town; each street and view is just as beautiful as the last. We chose winter in Hallstatt because we thought there would be fewer people there and the setting would be more beautiful.

When my girlfriend and I were planning this trip, we came across a picture of a deck with a view of the main area and knew that was where we had to stay. Seehotel Gruner Baum, the hotel with the view, may be the best place to stay in town. The rooms with views of the water are the most popular, but we chose a room with a view of the town to get a different view of the gingerbread houses in Hallstatt.
