DJ Khaled’s Inspiring Visit Sparks Shannon Sharpe’s Musical Aspirations: ‘Cut a Beat On’

It’s hardly surprising that Shannon Sharpe was deeply impacted by DJ Khaled, one of hip-hop’s most inspirational individuals, when he paid him a visit recently.

On Thursday, July 27, the NFL Hall of Famer posted on Twitter that he had some things he wanted to get off his chest. He would be assisted by the Grammy Award-winning record producer in performing it over a beat.

“It’s safe to say I think I want to make music now,” Sharpe began. Arrived at @djkhaled’s residence. He was told to drive me straight to the recording studio so I could get a beat on it. I want to talk about a couple of things! [Speaking, laughing, laughing emojis, level adjuster]

He then asked his audience, “What would be his artist name?”

A Twitter user suggested referring to the fan base as “The Sharpies” and another as “Shay Money” (a money bag emoji).

Fans have been curious about Sharpe’s potential worries and whether they have anything to do with the cause behind his sudden departure from Undisputed or the specifics of his future travel destination.

Last month, Sharpe announced that he had signed a buyout agreement with Fox Sports for Undisputed and that he and his Club Shay Shay podcast will be departing the network at the conclusion of the 2023 NBA Finals.

On the other hand, the offers for new positions came in quick succession. Among the many who have attempted to get Sharpe on his sports talk show It Is What It Is is rapper and fellow sports lover Cam’ron.

“Shannon, you definitely got a home here,” Killa remarked on an episode of his co-hosted programme with Mа$e. Hey, check out It Is What It Is and listen to my n-gga. N-gga, you know how much bread we get? You may be you because we are us. Oh my gosh, that would be insane. I’m telling you this!

He said, “I know you have your podcast, Club Shay Shay, and I know you’re not just reaching the buyout without something else in the works.” But when you really think about it, my n-gga, it makes perfect sense. Absurd reasoning

Sharpe may be thinking of other options even though he hasn’t responded to Cam’s offer. According to Deadline, Sharpe seems to be joining ESPN’s First Take.

After announcing on his podcast that “I want Shannon Sharpe on First Take and I am to get him,” the show’s host, Stephen A. Smith, said that ESPN is currently in negotiations with the legendary tight end from the NFL.

“We are speaking with Shannon Sharpe without a doubt,” Smith said. “There haven’t been any false reports, incorrect identities, or anything like in the reporting; the talks are official. We have communication with him, and I am confident that we will announce his appearance on First Take as soon as feasible.

Sharpe did not confirm or deny the rumours, but he did say he’s open to talking further about the idea of joining ESPN in response to a tweet from Smith that seemed to allude to the show.

“On Friday, what are you doing?” Sharpe shared a tweet. “I have some free time before my meetings, so please feel free to FT me.”
