Menton on the Cote d’Azur has some of the best weather in all of France. Menton has its unique microclimate, which means that it is always a couple of degrees warmer than the towns nearby on the French Riviera. Menton is a great French town to visit any time of the year because it doesn’t get too hot or too cold.

Menton is in a warm and dry climate because of its broad, shallow bay and the hills that circle it. These hills protect the town from cooler temperatures and winds. The mild weather in Menton is great for growing plants, which is why the town has so many lovely Mediterranean gardens (check out the Menton Garden Festival), as well as acres of orange trees and the famous Menton lemons. The lemon crop in Menton is so important to the town’s history and business that it has its festival in February (see Menton Lemon Festival).
