Travelers and artists have been impressed by Venice’s beauty and allure for centuries. However, tourists also find the city notoriously challenging to navigate given the influx of over a million visitors each year.
...My first few years in the city were difficult as I learned which pricey places to avoid and the best ways to get away from the throng. But after ten years of meandering down small alleyways, peering into modest bars, and taking in advice from locals, I’ve come to realize that there is a Venice apart from the hordes of tourists and tourist traps. This is how a true local would appreciate Venice.
