Top attractions and things to do in Naples

Naples is very charming, which makes the noise and chaos easy to deal with and even fun for most first-timers. It doesn’t yet have a lot of tourists, and it’s nice that it doesn’t have a lot of touristy stuff. Still, it’s a grand and beautiful place, with huge squares, top-notch museums, and run-down churches packed full of Baroque wonders.

The city is big and spread out, and the center is where a lot of different things happen. The old part of the city, called the centro storico, is between Piazza Garibaldi and Via Toledo. It loosely matches the old Roman city of Neapolis, as much of it is still not fully excavated below the ground. This is the liveliest and busiest part of town. It’s like an open-air kasbah full of people selling things and yelling. It makes up for its lack of style with energy.
