Rick Ross Passes the Torch: Hands Over Ownership of Fast Food Restaurant Business to His 16-Year-Old Son on His Birthday

Rick Ross is the best person to teach you how to be “The Boss,” and it appears like his kid has just signed up for a session.

On Tuesday, September 14, Ross gave his oldest son a significant birthday present of his own Wingstop franchise. Rick Ross not only owns Wingstop, a restaurant serving chicken wings, but he also promotes it on social media. As of June, Ross had approximately 28 Wingstops, according to Wingstop’s blog, Wingsider.

The “Aston Martin Magic” performer announced on Instagram that his son Williaм Roberts III has become the new owner of a Wingstop, following in his father’s footsteps. He posted a picture of Willia sitting on a chair and enjoying a drink from Wingstop on the floor together with two bags of wings. “Everyone wish мy son @ммgbigbank,” he wrote. A happy sixteenth birthday! He became the first owner of a @wingstop franchise today. You are now formally a BOSS! Continue.

The kid of the former jail guard not only owns a restaurant but also plays football at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Considering his social media accounts, which he seldom updates, Williaм intends to continue playing football beyond high school. The sophomore offensive lineman announced on January 20, his first post, that he had earned his first offer from the University of Michigan.

Wingstop is going through a change in supply while Williaмs is going through a change in age. Due to the rising cost of chicken wings, Wingstop’s CEO and chairman, Charlie Morrison, announced in January of this year that the company has added chicken thighs to their menu.

The demand for chicken wings surged following the closure of restaurants during the pandemic, driving up the cost. “A year ago, the [wholesale] price of wings was as low as 98 cents,” Morrison stated. It is currently $3.22. Thus, there is a meaningful distinction. Even if the price of the thighs is significantly lower, the challenge lies in persuading their wing-obsessed customers to order them. “There’s not a big market for it,” said Morison. Thighs “don’t get the appreciation they deserve,” he claims. As of right now, Thighstop is an exclusively online brand; orders can only be placed through Doordash and the company website.

Toie Roberts, Williaм Roberts III, Berkeley Hermes Roberts, and Billion Leonard Roberts are the four children that Ross is the parent to.
