Along the Moselle River, about 20 miles away from where it meets the Rhine, there is a small town called Cochem. People from Germany go there on vacation to camp, play in the river, drink some of the country’s wines, or just hang out in this cute little town and eat and shop.

We found this town on our first trip to Germany a few years ago while looking at castles. The Reichsberg Castle, which is in the area, was one of the castles we saw. Our visit to this town happened on a German holiday weekend. We never did find out what the holiday meant because everyone we asked had a slightly different answer, but we did learn that the Germans know how to party.
